Orlando Marshall, the Pittsburgh-based musician known as Buscrates, has been honing his sound for over 20 years. As a member of East Liberty Quarters, Marshall brought his passion for vintage synthesizers to the Pennsylvania trio’s 1980s-inspired electronic funk flavors. As a solo artist, he combines the raw boom-bap beats of early 1990s hip-hop with the decadent sheen of early 1980s synth-funk.
Angelo Outlaw has spent several decades perfecting his craft of mallet percussion. His unique style on vibraphone and marimba can at present only be described as dazzling. His musical endeavors have taken him across the country, as he has lived in Nashville doing session work and playing for marching groups in addition to performing and producing his own original material in his native Philadelphia. In 2020, Outlaw connected with fellow Philadelphians Eraserhood Sound in which their collaborative tracks further solidified Angelo as a master of cosmic soul-jazz.
